Compare and Contrast

The movie Tuesdays with Morrie is similar to the book in some ways. The part when Mitch goes to visit Morrie is pretty much the same. He pretends to be looking for his keys when he is really on the phone. Morrie acts very friendly and Mitch is a little vulnerable to the situation. The ABC interview is the same in the movie. Mitch sees Morrie on the news program Nightline, and decides to go visit. It is the same interview that we watched as a different assignment.
The book and the movie also differ in some parts. When Morrie shows Mitch the breathing test, he does it and only counts to 12. He says that the week before he only got to 16. In the book Morrie counted to 18 and and 23 the week before. That was a main difference that I saw. Everything else was similar.
I do think that watching the interview and the movie is beneficial because it gives you a visual of what is happening in the book. Even though the movie is different than the book, it still gives you a picture in your head. Overall, I think that watching the movie is helpful for me.
